TLT Week 1

Oh Team Leader Training, how I love thee. This last week has been full of policy training, leadership seminars, community relations presentations, and a day of service mixed in. One of the best things we've done this week was Hands of Peace, which is basically an all-day interpersonal relationship, conflict management, and team-building exercises. This picture is of me describing our "Cooperative Construction" exercise. We were told to decide on something to build before we knew what our building materials were, and once we received them we had to build it without speaking. We decided on a horse, and as we tried to use all of the pieces the horse developed a tail, a rider and an obstacle to jump over. Very Baroque.

Another fun activity that we did was "Frogs and Alligators." Kind of like sharks and minnows, but the safe areas are "lily pads" (newspapers). As the game progressed, there were fewer and fewer lily pads, so people started to jump onto each other in order to be safe from the shark (Bruce).

We also went kayaking at Lake Natoma with a big group, and Mikey and I jumped off of a cliff into the lake after making sure that the Sheriff wasn't going to arrest/fine us.
