I just finished debriefing from Project Round 1, which included everything after November 14th in Los Angeles, and we're full speed ahead for Round 2. We'll be driving to Salt Lake City on February 8th and working with the Utah Food Bank for three weeks in their warehouse and helping with a program that provides tax return guidance for seniors. After that we'll mozy on over to Sheridan, Wyoming to build homes with a Habitat for Humanity project.
On Monday we had a "cross-training" in which we spoke with the teams that worked the same projects during the first round. In Utah we'll be living at Camp Kotopolous, which provides recreational retreat for people with physical and developemntal disabilities. The camp is located in Emigrant Canyon, to the east of Salt Lake City and very close to the University of Utah. The cabin that we'll be staying at is pretty nice apparently, but it's also crazy cold up at camp and probably will be for the whole time that we're there. We know a little bit less about Wyoming because our housing has not been finalized yet. We do know that there is a brand new YMCA at which we can work out and hang out, and that the town is about 15,000 people.
I'm really looking forward to starting a new project in which we'll be making a very tangible contribution and doing challenging, physical work.
